VIV’s Glasswares are the most favored hand-blown glass pipes in the aquatic world offering an outstanding elegance to any aquarium. Designed with an emphasis on functional beauty, each VIV overflow is handmade in China by skilled glass workers. The pieces are formed from crystal clear borosilicate glass, the same material used to make high end lab equipment. Japanese glass craftsmen carefully hand finish each VIV part to the highest standards with smooth edges and attention to the smallest details. VIV’s Orchid outflows create a suitable water flow for the Iwagumi style aquascape and when keeping fish in an aquatic plant layout that prefer a moderate water flow, such as cyprinids and characins. The Iwagumi term itself comes from the Japanese term ‘rock formation’ and refers to a layout where stones play the lead role. Rocks provide the structure of the aquascape. The traditional geography is a design made of three main stones: one large headstone and two small others.
Orchid outflow will help achieve this style aquarium. Depending on its placement, the outflow pipe supplies aeration and its narrow outlet provides a slightly downward water stream.
VIV’s Mini Orchid outflow pipes are designed specifically for nano sized aquariums. They are not only smaller, but also have a more narrow distance between the inside and outside pipe. Because of its compact size, there is no need for suction cups. The pipes will generate enough water current for growing water plants without disturbing aquascapes.
Use with 13 mm or 1/2″ ID tubing and is best for aquariums up to 24″ in length.
Use with Orchid Inflow Mini.
Glass thickness: For aquariums with 17mm or 5/8″ rim/glass thickness or under.
Important Info: Always wet the glass tubing before inserting the silicon or rubber tubing to avoid damaging Glassware.
