Up Aqua’s Porous Ceramic Filter is a high surface area biological media that promotes a thriving bacterial colony in any aquarium. The 16 mm bio rings feature many small pores that greatly multiply available surface area for bacterial colonization, thus stabilizing water quality.

For best results, place in filter after mechanical filtration to ensure the pores are not clogged with debris. Replace approximately one third of this media after about 3 to 4 months to ensure new bacterial growth. Never replace all biological media at one time.
