The aquarium itself has all the features we look for like rimless, low iron glass, clean silicone work. Why these dimensions?
Hardscape materials typically available to us in North America scale better. This aquarium is slightly shorter and much deeper front to back allowing the stacking of substrate, stone and wood aiding the aquascaper to create their vision. The size also allows for standard equipment when it comes to lighting and filtration. Anything longer or more volume and lighting and filtration can get tricky and increase in maintenance. I run mine with a single pendant LED suspended 11″ above the aquarium and an OASE BioMaster Thermo 600. In addition the dimensions were selected based on artistic factors developed over 15 years of creating award winning aquascapes. Creating layouts in this aquarium is a joy.
